The Avispa was also designed by the survival experts over at ESEE Knives, Mike Perrin and Jeff Randall, and produced by Blue Ridge Knives. It features the same spear point blade shape but in a larger, more capable 3.5\" size, with excellent D2 tool steel. With this larger blade, they needed a larger handle and what better knife platform to go with than the awesome\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eOntario\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eRAT 1. It's a very ergonomic handle that's great for tactical applications and comfortable during prolonged use. The only knock on the\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eOntario\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eRAT 1 was that it was always a\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eliner lock\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eand never developed into a\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003eframe lock. Well, wait no longer - the Avispa is here. The absence of the extra handle scale has produced an extremely slim profile and easy to carry knife with the Avispa. The pocket clip is reversible to all four positions and the knife weighs in at 4.4 ounces.
